General

To use our short-term rental service, you must first check if your favourite DECATHLON store has the short-term rental service available for the product you require. You will find this information on our website https://rent.decathlon.com, and should follow all the steps until your rental reservation is complete. During this process, you need to select the products you want to rent, as well as the date, and log in with your Decathlon account to finalise the reservation. You also have the option of going directly to our store, and with the help of a colleague, in just a few minutes, you can manage a Rental. Payment is made in store. This service is reserved for customers who have a Decathlon account.

Once your rental reservation has been completed, you will receive a confirmation email. From this moment, your rental reservation will be available on the dates that appear on the email. If the product is unavailable, the store will contact you as soon as possible.

If it has let you complete the reservation, this means we have availability of this product for the date you have selected. Your product will be reserved and available at the Decathlon store you have selected, on the date you indicated during the rental process.

For reasons beyond our control, the Decathlon team reserves the right to cancel your rental reservation

To use the short-term rental service, you must have a Decathlon customer account. When using the service, you must log in with your Decathlon account to complete the reservation. If you don't have a Decathlon account, all you have to do is go to the Decathlon website, "My account" section, fill in your email address, choose a password and fill in some fields such as your first name and surname. That's all. Don't worry, it's quick and easy to create.

If in doubt, you can go to your nearest Decathlon store with an active Rental service, and our sales team will help you create your account, as well as your Rental reservation, in just a few minutes.

During the Rental process, you entered some start and end dates, which you can find in your confirmation email, or in your customer space. The rental starts from the moment the product is collected. Each day of the rental is due.

Finally, remember that you must return it in perfect condition on the end date of your rental indicated on your rental confirmation, and that the rental reservation corresponds to calendar days.

If during a visit to one of our physical stores, you feel like renting a product from our rental range, you only have to approach a member of staff to help you create a rental reservation, and you can enjoy it straight away.

Payments and contract

For a short-term rental, even if the reservation is done online, payment will be made in store

Payment methods are those authorised in your Decathon store

Yes, your payments are completely secure.

Once your rental has started, you can extend it, although you must notify your Decathlon store to check that the product is available and has not been reserved by another customer. If stock is available, the employee will extend your rental, which you need to pay when returning the product.

During the process of booking a Rental, you will be asked to validate the general and specific terms and conditions of the Rental. When you go to pick up your rental at your Decathlon store, you must sign a rental contract which once again specifies the conditions. Finally, when you return your rental, you must sign the return contract for your products.

The signed contract will be sent to you at the email address indicated when booking.

The answer is NO, you will not have to pay any additional deposit for renting a product. If you fail to return a product, for each extra day of delay, an amount equivalent to one extra day will be charged. If the client does not respond when contacted, and does not return the product, Decathlon reserves the right to take legal proceedings.

Services

For the moment, no. Our daily rental offer is reserved for private clients for private use. The means of payment used and general rental conditions limit us for the moment, but we are working to provide this experience for professionals, associations and local authorities. If you're interested, you can inform our customer services.

There is no direct discount. Our rental price table has been designed taking into account the possibility of making long-term reservations, in such a way that the price of the extra day is more accessible. Regarding multiple rentals, as of today, we do not have specific conditions, but we are working to offer an optimal experience.

Cancellation, changes and termination of the rental

Yes, you can cancel your rental, without any penalty, until the day before your rental begins. To do this, you can log in to your customer area and cancel the rental yourself. You can also contact the Decathlon store where you reserved your rental, so that a colleague can cancel your reservation. Cancellation is effective when the customer receives cancellation confirmation.

Our short-term rental service does not have a purchase option.

These products are intended to be re-rented several times, to ultimately be sold second-hand.

All the products included in our rental offer follow rigorous procedures to guarantee that they are in optimal condition. The client undertakes to ensure our rental products receive normal use, in such a way that any wear resulting from said normal use will be covered by Decathlon. However, for any broken parts resulting from misuse, negligence or vandalism, the client must pay for the repair or replacement of these damaged parts. If the product cannot be repaired, the customer must pay 100% of the product value, at the sale price with VAT currently in force in the store.

Repair, maintenance or theft

All the products included in our rental offer follow rigorous procedures to guarantee that they are in optimal condition. If, during the course of a rental, the product breaks through no fault of the customer, you must contact the Decathlon store that provided you with the rental so that our team of colleagues can quickly find a solution, either through reimbursement of the remaining rental days, or replacing the item in question with another in perfect condition.

If the breakage is due to misuse, negligence or vandalism, the customer must pay for the repair or replacement of the damaged parts. If the product cannot be repaired, the customer must pay 100% of the product value, at the sale price with VAT currently in force in the store. The period of inactivity for this misuse, negligence or vandalism will not be reimbursed to the client.

In case of breakage of a rented product due to misuse or vandalism, you must pay 100% of the purchase price of the broken item. To do this, we will take as a reference the sale price with VAT, which is currently in force in our Decathlon stores.

The product is not insured against theft. If your rented product has been stolen, you must inform the store where you collected the product as soon as possible. You must then pay 100% of the purchase price of the items you have rented. To do this, we will take as a reference the sale price with VAT which is currently in force in our Decathlon stores. A Decathlon colleague will help you in this process and indicate the amount you have to pay.
